Code, Criminal Law § 13–2438","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A person who violates § 13-2436 of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding:\n(i) for a first violation, $5,000; or\n(ii) for each subsequent violation, $10,000.\n(2) Each sale or offer of a chance from a tip jar is a separate violation.\n(b) If a person convicted under this section has a liquor license, the agency shall recommend to the Board of License Commissioners for Washington County that the Board suspend the person’s liquor license for not less than 15 days.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=13-2438","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"ddecb38ae2a863f5116f073b8c13640e2b7f99c0f17518184683c602fbcf3f1f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-13-2437","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-13-2439"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
