Code, Criminal Law § 3–404","heading":"","body":"(a) An indictment, information, warrant, or other charging document for robbery is sufficient if it substantially states:\n“(name of defendant) on (date) in (county) did feloniously rob (name of victim) of (property/service) (having a value of $1,000 or more) (with a dangerous weapon) in violation of (section violated) against the peace, government, and dignity of the State.”.\n(b) If a charging document alleges that the value of the property or service subject to this subtitle is $1,000 or more, the court shall instruct the jury to determine whether the value of the property or service is less than $1,000, or $1,000 or more.\n(c) Unless a charging document alleges that the value of the property or service subject to this subtitle is $1,000 or more, a felony violation of § 7–104 of this article is not a lesser included crime of robbery.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=3-404","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"a5a83daba5fdc1eb9f244d345ad501bb55808a9fcfa6d6f1eee66f10ab183f5b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-3-403","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-3-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
