Code, Criminal Law § 4–110","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “restricted firearm ammunition” means a cartridge, a shell, or any other device that:\n(1) contains explosive or incendiary material designed and intended for use in a firearm; and\n(2) has a core constructed, excluding traces of other substances, entirely from one or a combination of:\n(i) tungsten alloys;\n(ii) steel;\n(iii) iron;\n(iv) brass;\n(v) beryllium copper;\n(vi) depleted uranium; or\n(vii) an equivalent material of similar density or hardness.\n(b) A person may not, during and in relation to the commission of a crime of violence as defined in § 14–101 of this article, possess or use restricted firearm ammunition.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $5,000 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=4-110","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"5a8730ca131b225576ba29bcce452de243819142f42d5a6132599205bc7fc4bf","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-4-109","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-4-111"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
