Code, Criminal Law § 5–624","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “drug” does not include alcohol.\n(b) A person may not administer a controlled dangerous substance or other drug to another without that person’s knowledge and commit against that other:\n(1) a crime of violence as defined in § 14-101 of this article; or\n(2) a sexual offense in the third degree under § 3-307 of this article.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $2,500 or both.\n(d) A sentence imposed under this section may be separate from and consecutive to or concurrent with a sentence for any crime based on the act or acts establishing the violation of this section.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=5-624","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"71e80596caea853efc4b4292782d7914de9c6bc4c8da90fc6303ea019d2f2a89","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-5-623","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-5-627"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
