Code, Criminal Law § 6–112","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) “Crime of malicious or fraudulent burning” means a violation of § 6–104, § 6–105, or § 6–106 of this subtitle.\n(3) “Serious physical injury” has the meaning stated in § 3–201 of this article.\n(b) A person may not commit a crime of malicious or fraudulent burning that results in the death of or serious physical injury to a firefighter.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 10 years.\n(d) A sentence imposed under this section may be separate from and consecutive to or concurrent with a sentence imposed for any crime based on the act establishing the violation of this section.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=6-112","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"8e2add5bd7c4edb4ef517e0c79e119693c625e6a28cc576239a0b5a64c9fa115","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-111","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
