Code, Criminal Law § 6–203","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not break and enter the storehouse of another with the intent to commit theft, a crime of violence, or arson in the second degree.\n(b) A person may not break and enter the storehouse of another with the intent to steal, take, or carry away a firearm.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of the felony of burglary in the second degree and on conviction is subject to:\n(1) for a violation of subsection (a) of this section, imprisonment not exceeding 15 years; and\n(2) for a violation of subsection (b) of this section, imprisonment not exceeding 20 years or a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=6-203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"72610676881fee2b78da69e1d68b698c0dd5fedac8d5d255ae323adffa6a8e3f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-202","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
