Code, Criminal Law § 6–405","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “political subdivision” includes a:\n(1) county;\n(2) municipal corporation;\n(3) bicounty or multicounty agency;\n(4) county board of education;\n(5) public authority; or\n(6) special taxing district.\n(b) This section does not apply to:\n(1) a vessel;\n(2) a military, fire, or law enforcement vehicle;\n(3) a farm-type tractor, other agricultural equipment used for agricultural purposes, or construction equipment used for agricultural purposes or earth moving;\n(4) earth-moving or construction equipment used for those purposes; or\n(5) a lawn mower, snowblower, garden or lawn tractor, or golf cart while being used for its designed purpose.\n(c) Except as otherwise allowed by law, a person may not use an off-road vehicle on property known by the person to be owned or leased by the State or a political subdivision.\n(d) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=6-405","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"79d279984d0a2f2778cfc5e3d4ebb6eb8f20bb8855fa7dd2ef619c6671e84371","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-404","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-406"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
