Code, Criminal Law § 6–406","heading":"","body":"(a) “Cultivated land” means land that has been cleared of its natural vegetation and is currently planted with a crop or orchard.\n(b) Unless a person has permission from the owner of cultivated land or an agent of the owner, a person may not enter on the cultivated land of another.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.\n(d) This section:\n(1) prohibits only wanton entry on cultivated land; and\n(2) does not:\n(i) prevent a person who resides on cultivated land from receiving a person who seeks to provide a lawful service; or\n(ii) apply to a person entering cultivated land under color of law or color of title.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=6-406","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"33358dc0ff501c58566ddcd379e35a8ef225831d7348e2a8a5114d906c9b863b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-405","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-6-407"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
