Code, Criminal Law § 7–106","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “newspaper” means a periodical that is distributed on a complimentary or compensatory basis.\n(b) A person may not knowingly or willfully obtain or exert control that is unauthorized over newspapers with the intent to prevent another from reading the newspapers.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 60 days or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=7-106","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"3741eee959ef8d044e7e0cce195be4f4f812183541cbb731a61fe0c5f91d2774","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-7-105.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-7-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
