Code, Criminal Law § 8–606.1","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not:\n(1) forge, falsify, or counterfeit the signature of a judge, court officer, or court employee of the State; or\n(2) use a document with a forged, false, or counterfeit signature of a judge, court officer, or other court employee of the State knowing the signature to be forged, false, or counterfeit.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both.\n(c) A person who violates this section is subject to § 5–106(b) of the Courts Article.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=8-606.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"97025ca320a94986e5da6b014e3745914f41e94b95f2242473c82f2a5d032c14","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-8-606","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-8-607"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
