Code, Criminal Law § 8–902","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) “Drug” means a drug, medicine, or a medicinal or chemical preparation for internal human consumption.\n(3) “Prepare” means to make, mix, manufacture, or compound.\n(b) A person who is engaged in the business of preparing or dispensing a drug for internal human consumption may not prepare, dispense, sell, or deliver the drug to a person directly or through an agent or employee if:\n(1) ethyl alcohol is usually used to prepare the drug; and\n(2) the preparer, or the preparer’s agent or employee, in any manner uses or substitutes methyl alcohol for ethyl alcohol, or puts methyl alcohol into the drug.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment for not less than 3 months and not exceeding 1 year or a fine of not less than $100 and not exceeding $500 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=8-902","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"2d1c72f2c33a8d5310729ad955980527ce8b6a4c701bd328870d11069b2fa133","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-8-901","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-8-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
