Code, Criminal Law § 9–414","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A person may not deliver a weapon to a person detained or confined in a place of confinement.\n(2) A person may not possess a weapon with the intent to deliver it to a person detained or confined in a place of confinement.\n(3) A person may not deposit or conceal a weapon in or about a place of confinement or on any land appurtenant to the place of confinement to effect an escape.\n(4) A person detained or confined in a place of confinement may not knowingly possess or receive a weapon.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 10 years or a fine not exceeding $5,000 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=9-414","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"76cab962a4bd8f2bdfca6bc9c6429e049852fe8969af7a6535ebbcdc5a1ecb8f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-9-413","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-9-415"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
