Code, Criminal Law § 9–415","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to an alcoholic beverage delivered or possessed in a manner authorized by the managing official.\n(b) A person may not:\n(1) deliver an alcoholic beverage to a person detained or confined in a place of confinement; or\n(2) possess an alcoholic beverage with the intent to deliver it to a person detained or confined in a place of confinement.\n(c) A person detained or confined in a place of confinement may not knowingly possess or receive an alcoholic beverage.\n(d) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=9-415","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"7f97e4e964d27b5c1fa47cf1c86ca6e5370401c1f0e8b269a087e1aebef45d60","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-9-414","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-9-416"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
