Code, Criminal Procedure § 11–712","heading":"","body":"(a) If a registrant escapes from a facility, the supervising authority of the facility by the most reasonable and expedient means available shall immediately notify:\n(1) each local law enforcement unit where the registrant resided or habitually lived before the registrant was committed to the custody of the supervising authority; and\n(2) each person who is entitled to receive notice under § 11–715(a) of this subtitle.\n(b) If the registrant is recaptured, the supervising authority shall send notice, as soon as possible but not later than 2 working days after the supervising authority learns of the recapture, to:\n(1) each local law enforcement unit where the registrant resided or habitually lived before the registrant was committed to the custody of the supervising authority; and\n(2) each person who is entitled to receive notice under § 11–715(a) of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Criminal Procedure"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcp\u0026section=11-712","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:17Z","sha256":"5811beba140c0f691a694fd7d708cf4d3b9956f4d659f781755aadca7b5fb6f3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-11-710","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-11-713"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
