Code, Criminal Procedure § 11–807","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “law enforcement unit” means:\n(1) the Department of State Police;\n(2) the Police Department of Baltimore City;\n(3) the police department, bureau, or force of a county;\n(4) the police department, bureau, or force of a municipal corporation;\n(5) the office of the sheriff of a county;\n(6) the office of the State’s Attorney for a county;\n(7) the Office of the Attorney General; or\n(8) the Office of the State Prosecutor.\n(b) When a report of a crime is filed with a law enforcement unit, the law enforcement unit shall give to a victim of that crime written information that the Board supplies about compensation for victims.\n(c) A failure to comply with this section is not grounds for any civil or criminal action against a law enforcement unit.","path":["Article - Criminal Procedure"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcp\u0026section=11-807","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:17Z","sha256":"99a656ee9a1dfbe989afb4524a501217d359a801a28c39ad0b51d728c0753a6f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-11-806","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-11-808"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
