Code, Criminal Procedure § 11–919","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a grant program.\n(b) The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy shall:\n(1) adopt regulations for the administration and award of grants under Part II of this subtitle; and\n(2) submit all approved grant applications to the Board.\n(c) The Board shall:\n(1) approve each grant application received by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy before any money is released from the Fund;\n(2) ensure that the money obtained from unclaimed restitution under § 17–317(a)(3)(i) of the Commercial Law Article is used for annual grants to provide legal counsel to victims of crimes and delinquent acts to protect the victims’ rights as provided by law; and\n(3) ensure that grants to child advocacy centers established under § 11–923(h) of this subtitle shall:\n(i) support the development and operation of child advocacy centers; and\n(ii) supplement and not supplant money that the child advocacy centers receive from other sources.","path":["Article - Criminal Procedure"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcp\u0026section=11-919","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:17Z","sha256":"5d5306752deb0396155af671adbaa8930b73acd6ae5145e066e42cba67f3d229","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-11-918","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-11-922"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
