Code, Criminal Procedure § 12–310","heading":"","body":"(a) Forfeiture proceedings for real property may be brought in the jurisdiction where:\n(1) the criminal charges are pending;\n(2) the owner resides; or\n(3) the real property is located.\n(b) (1) If forfeiture proceedings for real property are brought in a jurisdiction other than where the real property is located, a notice of pending litigation shall be filed in the jurisdiction where the property is located.\n(2) A notice of pending litigation required under this subsection shall include at least:\n(i) the name and address of the owner of the real property;\n(ii) a description of the real property; and\n(iii) a description of the reasons for the filing of the forfeiture proceedings and notice of pending litigation.","path":["Article - Criminal Procedure"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcp\u0026section=12-310","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:17Z","sha256":"6ec3e01e9ab4f3a822b5ec6beab5a21bb6bac36fd4dbe82ce8536ae5ee4bb152","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-12-309","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-12-311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
