Code, Criminal Procedure § 13–532","heading":"","body":"(a) Before exercising the right to sell property that has been seized under this subtitle, a lienholder shall give to the forfeiting authority:\n(1) written notice of the intention to sell;\n(2) copies of documents giving rise to the lien; and\n(3) an affidavit under oath by the lienholder:\n(i) stating that the underlying obligation is in default; and\n(ii) stating the reasons for the default.\n(b) On request of the lienholder, the forfeiting authority shall release the property to the lienholder.","path":["Article - Criminal Procedure"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcp\u0026section=13-532","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:17Z","sha256":"231562dda976a53e582272bef0570028b6d8e56e76542051106346def50fb7d4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-13-531","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-procedure-13-533"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
