Code, Economic Development § 10–454","heading":"","body":"(a) In this part the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Commercialization” means the process of introducing a new product or technology into the market.\n(c) “Fund” means the Maryland Innovation Initiative Fund established under § 10–457 of this subtitle.\n(d) “Initiative” means the Maryland Innovation Initiative established under § 10–455 of this subtitle.\n(e) “Participating members” means the representatives described in § 10–455(b) of this subtitle.\n(f) “Qualifying university” means a public or private university that meets the requirements set forth under § 10–455(c) of this subtitle.\n(g) “Technology transfer” means the process of converting scientific and technological advances into marketable goods and services.\n(h) “University” means a nonprofit, research university located in Maryland.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=10-454","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"b31721931b1e8b86cc11d1f875b8baaf98f3bdad34ee75ce1ec3938aa5882027","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-10-451","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-10-455"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
