Code, Economic Development § 13–302","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a Baltimore Metropolitan Council.\n(b) The Council:\n(1) is a body politic and corporate; and\n(2) is not a unit of State government.\n(c) The purposes of the Council are to:\n(1) serve as a forum for local officials and their representatives to identify and address problems in the region;\n(2) provide a central source of information and coordination for fashioning responses to needs in the region;\n(3) assist local jurisdictions in developing regional policies, prioritizing regional infrastructure needs, and developing regional strategies; and\n(4) facilitate coordination and collaboration among local jurisdictions and organizations in the Baltimore region to foster economic growth and development in the region in areas that include:\n(i) regional transportation;\n(ii) housing;\n(iii) workforce development; and\n(iv) renewable energy projects and usage.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=13-302","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"921cd1180f0f775c7a7339fa89005d8ee903fbd891e6352bc0218c4e84b97b74","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-301","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
