Code, Economic Development § 13–603","heading":"","body":"(a) The Council consists of:\n(1) the members of the General Assembly representing the region, as voting members;\n(2) the commissioners of Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties, as voting members;\n(3) one voting member appointed by the president of the Southern Maryland Municipal Association;\n(4) one voting member at large from each county, appointed by the commissioners of the county with the concurrence of the members of the General Assembly representing the county;\n(5) one nonvoting member from each county, appointed jointly by the economic development commission and the planning and zoning commission of the county; and\n(6) one nonvoting member appointed by the Department and the Department of Planning.\n(b) (1) An ex officio member is a member only during the member’s term of office.\n(2) A member at large serves at the pleasure of the elected members who represent the same county.\n(3) At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed.\n(4) Except for an ex officio member, a member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=13-603","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"17186d9a2d8e265bd2ced9d1f0e8730fabdc96515920d2ec13e8fba1f7def7e6","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-602","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-604"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
