Code, Economic Development § 13–612","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “property manager” means an entity responsible for the management and maintenance of real property, including:\n(1) finding tenants;\n(2) collecting rent;\n(3) paying expenses and applicable taxes;\n(4) maintaining utilities and systems; and\n(5) taking any necessary actions to manage and operate real property.\n(b) The Council may operate in the region.\n(c) The Council may:\n(1) adopt a seal;\n(2) sue;\n(3) adopt bylaws and rules for the conduct of its business;\n(4) enter into contracts and agreements;\n(5) borrow money and accept advances, loans, grants, contributions, and any other form of assistance from the federal government, the State, or other public or private source;\n(6) give any required security;\n(7) include in any contract for financial assistance with the federal government any reasonable and appropriate condition imposed under federal law that is not inconsistent with the purposes of this subtitle;\n(8) execute any instrument and act as necessary, convenient, or desirable to carry out its powers and the purposes of this subtitle; and\n(9) act as a property manager of the Southern Maryland Regional Agricultural Center owned by and located within St. Mary’s County.\n(d) The Council shall publish its rules.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=13-612","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"fef829229cf92572d60482ebf80ce241e4a4944740521298ef5480ecfb1d7a94","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-611","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-612.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
