Code, Economic Development § 13–737","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a Western Maryland Economic Future Investment Board.\n(b) The Board consists of the following members:\n(1) one representative from District 1, appointed by the Speaker of the House, in consultation with the District 1 delegation to the Maryland General Assembly;\n(2) one representative from District 1, appointed by the President of the Senate, in consultation with the District 1 delegation to the Maryland General Assembly;\n(3) one representative from District 2, appointed by the Speaker of the House, in consultation with the District 2 delegation to the Maryland General Assembly;\n(4) one representative from District 2, appointed by the President of the Senate, in consultation with the District 2 delegation to the Maryland General Assembly; and\n(5) the Executive Director, as a nonvoting member, except that the Executive Director may vote to break a tie on any item voted by the Board.\n(c) The voting members of the Board may elect a chair from among the Board’s members.\n(d) The Council shall provide staff for the Board.\n(e) A member of the Board:\n(1) may not receive compensation as a member of the Board; but\n(2) is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations, as provided in the State budget.\n(f) The voting members of the Board shall have final approval authority on:\n(1) disbursements from the Fund; and\n(2) projects selected in accordance with § 13–740 of this subtitle.\n(g) A member of the Maryland General Assembly may not serve as a member of the Board.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=13-737","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"1d80dadbdd09773a82da2867db251b538ee7e2c08553fa0946bc28d68bc21330","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-736","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-13-738"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
