Code, Economic Development § 4–509","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) With the approval of the Secretary, the Council shall appoint an Executive Director of the Council.\n(2) The Executive Director may not be a member of the Council.\n(b) (1) The Executive Director serves at the pleasure of the Council, subject to the concurrence of the Secretary.\n(2) The Executive Director is a special appointment in the State Personnel Management System.\n(c) Subject to the policies of the Council and the administrative supervision of the Secretary, the Executive Director:\n(1) is the administrative officer of the Council staff;\n(2) shall appoint and remove employees of the Council; and\n(3) shall direct, administer, and supervise the activities of the Council staff.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=4-509","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"a514e3337e117058f7467a4fa6a52ce5d7e2ba89ce8d9a77e972cbc06f911930","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-4-508","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-4-510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
