Code, Economic Development § 5–1801","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Borrower” means a business that:\n(1) qualifies as a small business under the U.S. Small Business Administration size standards;\n(2) applies to a lender for business financing; and\n(3) has fewer than 50 employees.\n(c) “Lender” means:\n(1) a credit union, as defined in § 1–101 of the Financial Institutions Article;\n(2) a financial institution, as defined in § 1–101 of the Financial Institutions Article; or\n(3) a community development financial institution as defined in 12 U.S.C. § 4702(5).\n(d) “Program” means the Capital Access Program established under § 5–1802 of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=5-1801","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"143b78c176c2d1e2b3dee94b9bbf449ccd3365ebb99fe5f20c6c38037d84bbf6","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-1702","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-1802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
