Code, Economic Development § 5–2101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Advisory Commission” means the Advisory Commission on Maryland Alcohol Manufacturing.\n(c) “Beer” has the meaning stated in § 1–101 of the Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis Article.\n(d) “Brewery” means an establishment operated under a Class 5 brewery license, Class 6 pub–brewery license, Class 7 micro–brewery license, or Class 8 farm brewery license.\n(e) “Distilled spirits” has the meaning stated in § 5–101 of the Tax – General Article.\n(f) “Distillery” means an establishment operated under a Class 1 distillery license or Class 9 limited distillery license.\n(g) “Fund” means the Maryland Alcohol Manufacturing Promotion Fund.\n(h) “Grower” means a person who:\n(1) grows grapes, hops, fruit, honey, or grain to be included in manufactured alcohol in the State; and\n(2) produces at least $10,000 worth of these products each year.\n(i) “Viticulture” means the cultivation and study of grapes and grape vines.\n(j) “Wine” has the meaning stated in § 1–101 of the Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis Article.\n(k) “Winery” means an establishment operated under a Class 3 winery license or Class 4 limited winery license.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=5-2101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"7649296b62facf1ef34b3938c863e3beeacd8d172e37816bd678dc9c826cf981","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-2003","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-2102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
