Code, Economic Development § 5–2601","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Commission” means the Maryland Aerospace and Technology Commission.\n(c) “Institution of higher education” means an educational institution in the State that:\n(1) by law or charter:\n(i) is a public or nonprofit educational institution; and\n(ii) is authorized to provide:\n1. a program of education beyond the high school level and award a bachelor’s or advanced degree; or\n2. a program of 2 or more years’ duration that is accepted for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree; and\n(2) meets the standards and regulations that the Maryland Higher Education Commission prescribes and is authorized to issue a certificate, diploma, or degree under Title 12 of the Education Article.\n(d) “Zone” means an aerospace and technology zone designated under § 5–2607 of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=5-2601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"8b42b6a028f2079d0e22d69538a2db388400e1973289dae4cdf916e212d13633","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-2504","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-2602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
