Code, Economic Development § 5–506","heading":"","body":"(a) The Authority consists of the following nine members:\n(1) seven members appointed by the Governor;\n(2) the Secretary or the Secretary’s designee; and\n(3) (i) the Comptroller or the Treasurer as designated by the Governor; or\n(ii) the designee of the Governor’s designee.\n(b) (1) The term of an appointed member is 5 years.\n(2) The terms of appointed members are staggered as required for appointments to the Authority on October 1, 2008.\n(3) At the end of a term, an appointed member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(4) A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(c) The Governor may remove an appointed member for cause.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=5-506","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"26660b31cecdd9a318e96c0d976bdcad0025c782733a1c1cd97144b3fb7d7634","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-505","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
