Code, Economic Development § 5–530","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not knowingly make or cause to be made a false statement or report in an application or document submitted to the Authority under this part.\n(b) A person may not knowingly make or cause to be made a false statement or report to influence an action of the Authority under this part:\n(1) on an application for financial assistance; or\n(2) affecting financial assistance whether or not the assistance has already been extended.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $50,000 or both.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=5-530","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"a1193d12a510ddc6969302d54f95561a66a967c6c478c00cf59acf7ed530ce95","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-529","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-533"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
