Code, Economic Development § 5–801","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Private corporation” means a Maryland corporation organized to establish, operate, and maintain a foreign trade zone under the federal Foreign Trade Zones Act.\n(2) “Private corporation” does not include a public corporation.\n(c) “Public corporation” means:\n(1) the State;\n(2) a subdivision of the State; or\n(3) an incorporated public authority, commission, agency, or other corporate instrumentality of:\n(i) the State;\n(ii) a subdivision or municipal corporation of the State; or\n(iii) the State and another state.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=5-801","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"54fe5b722ab876270670946e80c8b6d380dee8c3102e1d549181bba38f9a511e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-709","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
