Code, Economic Development § 6–101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this title the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Central services” means the performance of central management or administrative functions.\n(2) “Central services” includes:\n(i) general management;\n(ii) accounting;\n(iii) computer tabulating;\n(iv) data processing;\n(v) purchasing;\n(vi) transportation or shipping;\n(vii) advertising;\n(viii) legal services;\n(ix) financial services; and\n(x) research and development.\n(c) “Company headquarters” means a facility where the majority of a business entity’s financial, personnel, legal, and planning functions are handled on a regional or national basis.\n(d) “Full-time position” means a position requiring an employee to work at least 840 hours during at least 24 weeks in a 6-month period.\n(e) “Qualified employee” means an employee filling a qualified position.","path":["Article - Economic Development"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gec\u0026section=6-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:28Z","sha256":"6915dbaeaa281ce55972e28cacd62530ad44a77b06256bf4072c8c5e55650912","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-5-2608","next":"us-md/md.-code-economic-development-6-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
