Code, Education § 10–210","heading":"","body":"(a) The community colleges of the State shall provide a diverse range of education services, with particular emphasis on community centered programs and programs that afford open access to persons with a variety of educational backgrounds.\n(b) The community colleges of the State shall:\n(1) Provide a core curriculum of general education, including courses in the arts and sciences, that should be available to all students;\n(2) Provide lower level undergraduate courses, in accordance with credit transfer guidelines set by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, for students who aspire to continue their education at a senior institution;\n(3) Provide technical and career education programs;\n(4) Provide training in skills and fields of study of importance to the region’s business community;\n(5) Provide a wide variety of continuing education programs to benefit citizens of the community;\n(6) Provide developmental and remedial education for citizens with needs in these areas; and\n(7) Provide public services to the community’s citizens.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=10-210","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"ab027d7085d9993d416040b65c8723e688cb74c0b9306875daa7799059dc9bbb","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-10-209","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-10-211"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
