Code, Education § 11–802","heading":"","body":"On receipt of recommendations from the Maryland Digital Library Advisory Council the Commission may encourage each academic library at a public or private nonprofit institution of postsecondary education to:\n(1) Increase shared access to information of critical value in Internet-accessible electronic form and in library collections of books, journals, sound recordings, and other traditional forms of material;\n(2) Optimize effective use of funding in the acquisition and creation of digital resources;\n(3) Digitize unique collections in the academic library to create Internet and other on-line resources beneficial to elementary, secondary, and higher education;\n(4) Train librarians and staff to improve services in the information technology environment; and\n(5) Develop programs that support training library users to access Internet and electronic materials.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=11-802","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"2cd079d56062bebf1e8dee570e2067fdd3618de2cf7a8ace780c8d2d7c1a7cb1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-11-801","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-11-803"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
