Code, Education § 11–906","heading":"","body":"(a) Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to require the Committee, the Library, or a publisher of instructional materials to:\n(1) Convert instructional materials into accessible formats for blind and print disabled students; or\n(2) Require a publisher to provide any format other than an electronic format provided under § 11–904 of this subtitle.\n(b) A publisher of instructional material may not be required to:\n(1) Perform any act that would constitute an infringement of a copyright under the Copyright Revision Act of 1976;\n(2) Provide an electronic format of instructional material if the publisher:\n(i) Publishes or manufactures a version of the instructional material that is accessible to students with disabilities;\n(ii) Chooses to provide an electronic format of instructional material directly to a student in a timely manner; or\n(iii) Has not previously produced a digital version of the fully edited and typeset instructional material, including instructional material produced by a method that does not require the creation of a digital file; or\n(3) Provide an electronic format of instructional material that is no longer in print or available and offered for sale by the publisher.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=11-906","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"f13c5ca25565e907567b84513a67e5298d7271a6ebee30846e80f444a18914de","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-11-905","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-11-1001"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
