Code, Education § 16–607","heading":"","body":"(a) The Board of Trustees may:\n(1) Appoint an individual, other than the attorney to the Board of Trustees, as hearing examiner; and\n(2) Adopt rules governing proceedings before the hearing examiner.\n(b) The hearing examiner:\n(1) May hold an initial hearing on any matter brought before the Board of Trustees; and\n(2) Shall submit to the Board of Trustees and to the parties findings of fact and conclusions of law, a transcript of the proceedings, and exhibits.\n(c) The Board of Trustees shall:\n(1) Hear arguments, if requested by a party; and\n(2) After considering the arguments and the record, decide the matter.\n(d) The decision of the Board of Trustees may not be appealed.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=16-607","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"a862af8d9460d2a9a728ca723add4f0612c440cc84ae2cb5cba40ccab80a0875","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-16-606","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-16-608"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
