Code, Education § 16–708","heading":"","body":"(a) A public employee or group of public employees has the right at any time to:\n(1) Present a grievance arising under the terms of the agreement to the public employer; and\n(2) Have the grievance adjusted without the intervention of the exclusive representative.\n(b) The exclusive representative has the right to be present during any meeting involving the presentation or adjustment of a grievance.\n(c) (1) A public employer shall hear a grievance and participate in the adjustment of the grievance.\n(2) The adjustment of a grievance may not be inconsistent with the terms of the collective bargaining agreement then in effect.\n(3) A public employer shall give prompt notice of any adjustment of a grievance to the exclusive representative.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=16-708","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"ec15b41207710b4bec72839cea5e66ef1be95e061a75d4b008af1151a77016aa","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-16-707","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-17-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
