Code, Education § 18–2303","heading":"","body":"Each recipient of a Maryland HOPE Scholarship shall:\n(1) Be accepted for admission in a regular undergraduate program at an eligible institution in the State;\n(2) Be a resident of the State;\n(3) Earn an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent after completion of the first semester of the senior year;\n(4) Begin attending an eligible institution within 2 years of completing high school or, failing to do so, provide evidence satisfactory to the Office of extenuating circumstances;\n(5) Enroll as a full-time student at an eligible institution;\n(6) Have an annual total family income of $95,000 or below;\n(7) Accept any other conditions attached to the award; and\n(8) Satisfy any additional criteria the Maryland Higher Education Commission may establish.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=18-2303","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"243426b3592111111ba206da1e4f6ed4ccf15f9bac6c0b471f11f7f505831758","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-2302","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-2304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
