Code, Education § 18–2701","heading":"","body":"// EFFECTIVE UNTIL JUNE 30, 2030 PER CHAPTERS 185 AND 186 OF 2024 //\n(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Eligible individual” means an individual who is:\n(1) Enrolled in the first or second year at an institution of initial eligibility; and\n(2) Interested in pursuing a career in the teaching profession.\n(c) “Fund” means the Teacher Development and Retention Fund established under this subtitle.\n(d) “Institution of initial eligibility” means:\n(1) An institution of higher education in the State where at least 40% of the attendees receive federal Pell Grants; or\n(2) A community college established under Title 16 of this article.\n(e) “Program” means the Teacher Development and Retention Program established under this subtitle.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=18-2701","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"303c1a648bc2a235b675b099416a9acf9c0cf0d6ee84a35890e00c7030e47871","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-2601","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-2702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
