Code, Education § 18–28A–02","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a Maryland Loan Assistance Repayment Program for Farmers in the State.\n(b) The Office shall assist in the repayment of a higher education loan owed by a farmer who:\n(1) Has received an undergraduate or graduate degree in agriculture or an agriculture–related field from a public or private nonprofit institution of higher education located in the State;\n(2) Has been a farmer for at least 5 years but not more than 10 years since obtaining the degree;\n(3) Receives an income that is less than the maximum eligible total income levels established by the Office, in consultation with the Department, including any additional sources of income; and\n(4) Satisfies any other criteria established by the Office.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=18-28A-02","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"4c257673056b6ce59590ad6d1957445e157931efe5697e6d2b4a2c299fbed2d3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-28a-01","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-28a-03"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
