Code, Education § 18–3201","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Foster care recipient” means an individual who was placed in an out–of–home placement by a state’s or unit of a state government’s department of social services for 3 years or more.\n(c) “Higher education loan” means any loan for undergraduate or graduate study that is obtained for tuition, educational expenses, or living expenses from:\n(1) An institution of higher education, government, or commercial source; or\n(2) An organization, an institution, an association, a society, or a corporation that is exempt from taxation under § 501(c)(3) or (4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.\n(d) “Program” means the Maryland Loan Assistance Repayment Program for Foster Care Recipients.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=18-3201","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"63e22a6ebe76ed3207bd4aae76ceb9ccbf239b21e9de9dd89689169179406583","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-3103","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-3202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
