Code, Education § 18–3801","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Eligible institution” means:\n(1) A public senior higher education institution in the State; or\n(2) A community college in the State.\n(c) “Police officer” has the meaning stated in § 3–201 of the Public Safety Article.\n(d) “Probation agent” means an individual serving as a parole and probation agent, supervisor, or regional administrator for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.\n(e) “Service obligation” means to work as a police officer or probation agent in the State not less than 5 years during the 8–year period after graduation.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=18-3801","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"74c50358936b68893f8ac378a6c7c35803aa47e9970ecfd606f7975f3420877b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-3705","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-3802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
