Code, Education § 18–3902","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a Pilot Program for Human Services Careers Scholarship.\n(b) The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide tuition assistance to students who are enrolled in a program at an eligible institution that will enable the student to obtain a credential or degree that is necessary to work in or further a career in a targeted position in the Department of Human Services.\n(c) A Scholarship recipient shall:\n(1) Be a Maryland resident or a graduate of a Maryland high school;\n(2) Be accepted for admission or currently enrolled at an eligible institution in a program that will enable the recipient to obtain a credential or degree that is necessary to work in or further a career in a targeted position in the Department of Human Services;\n(3) Enter into a written agreement with the Commission, in the form and manner prescribed by the Office, to meet the conditions of the Scholarship under this subtitle;\n(4) Maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent; and\n(5) Satisfy any additional criteria established by the Office or the Department of Human Services.\n(d) The annual scholarship award shall be 100% of the equivalent annual tuition and mandatory fees at the eligible institution.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=18-3902","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"d5cc4e8b75d8505a1b009171c52eb6a1d101d025123e714a8b2b40ade107f780","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-3901","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-18-3903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
