Code, Education § 23–102","heading":"","body":"(a) The General Assembly finds:\n(1) That public library resources and services are essential components of the educational system; and\n(2) That libraries stimulate awareness and understanding of critical social issues, and assist individuals in reaching their highest potential for self–development.\n(b) It is the policy of this State:\n(1) To continue the orderly development and maintenance of library facilities and services throughout this State, in collaboration with the counties; and\n(2) To develop coordinated programs and services among libraries and institutions to:\n(i) Provide the widest possible access to the library and information resources of this State; and\n(ii) Ensure more effective and economical services to all library users.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=23-102","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"e40f2e6987995df1acad5b4589e4cb616181016874d032bc465bc5698edf9f20","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-23-101","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-23-102.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
