Code, Education § 24–1210","heading":"","body":"(a) If the University establishes a police department under this subtitle, the police department shall allow a person or governmental unit to access information in the same manner as a person or governmental unit would be able to access a public record of a law enforcement agency under the Public Information Act if the information is:\n(1) Included in records that are:\n(i) Created solely for law enforcement purposes; or\n(ii) Related to an arrest for a criminal offense; and\n(2) Would be subject to disclosure under the Public Information Act if the information were in a record created by a law enforcement agency.\n(b) This section may not be construed to make an independent institution of higher education, as defined in § 10–101 of this article, subject to the Public Information Act.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=24-1210","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"ee38539f5a1a1f4d57264c32667e7e674da63293148da64aaf55efb07c557d02","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-24-1209","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-24-1211"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
