Code, Education § 4–305","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a Chief Academic Officer in the Baltimore City Public School System who shall:\n(1) Be responsible for the development and implementation of the curriculum taught and the instruction provided in the Baltimore City Public School System; and\n(2) Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.\n(b) The Chief Executive Officer shall, subject to the approval of the board:\n(1) Select the Chief Academic Officer; and\n(2) Establish the salary of the Chief Academic Officer.\n(c) The employment contract of the Chief Academic Officer shall provide, at a minimum, that continued employment is contingent on demonstrable improvement in the academic performance of the students in the Baltimore City Public School System.\n(d) The Chief Academic Officer is not a public officer under the Constitution or the laws of the State.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=4-305","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"2e750db08b0a3514173a6d3237de81be149227093ea7f96171ef14252cd463be","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-4-304","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-4-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
