Code, Education § 5–240","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) Beginning in fiscal year 2021, the Governor shall appropriate in the annual budget $6,500,000 to the Department for the purpose of providing grants to maintain or establish school–based health centers.\n(2) (i) 1. The Department shall designate a primary contact employee for school–based health centers.\n2. The Department’s primary contact employee shall:\nA. Assist individuals involved in school–based health centers who interact with the Department;\nB. Provide technical assistance to support the establishment and expansion of school–based health centers; and\nC. Coordinate the Department’s efforts with those of the Maryland Department of Health and other government agencies to build a robust network of school–based health centers in the State.\n(ii) 1. The Maryland Department of Health shall designate a primary contact employee for school–based health centers.\n2. The Maryland Department of Health’s primary contact employee shall:\nA. Assist individuals involved in school–based health centers who interact with the Maryland Department of Health;\nB. Provide technical assistance to support the establishment and expansion of school–based health centers; and\nC. Coordinate the Maryland Department of Health’s efforts with those of the Department and other government agencies to build a robust network of school–based health centers in the State.\n(b) The amount appropriated under subsection (a) of this section shall be in addition to the amount appropriated in fiscal year 2020.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=5-240","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"27efdad0eff3d75a1401708ccca297e6feb751bee65bf3894b106e69e9070c63","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-5-239","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-5-241"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
