Code, Education § 6–903","heading":"","body":"The protection provided against a violation of § 6–902 of this subtitle shall apply only if:\n(1) The public school employee has a reasonable, good faith belief that the public school employer has, or still is, engaged in an activity, a policy, or a practice that is in violation of a law, rule, or regulation;\n(2) The public school employee discloses information that the employee reasonably believes evidences:\n(i) An abuse of authority, gross mismanagement, or gross waste of money;\n(ii) A substantial and specific danger to public health or safety; or\n(iii) A violation of law; and\n(3) The public school employee has reported the activity, policy, or practice to a supervisor or an administrator of the public school employer in writing and afforded the employer a reasonable opportunity to correct the activity, policy, or practice.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=6-903","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"edeed2d3a895b481a9d9da323de0f317c50c145b454a353e6af4b38631f9b2f8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-6-902","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-6-904"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
