Code, Education § 7–134","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section:\n(1) “Museum of cultural import” means a museum that provides historic and sociological learning opportunities on the history and culture of an oppressed and historically underrepresented community, leaving attendees with a deeper understanding of the community and all people’s shared humanity; and\n(2) “Museum of cultural import” includes:\n(i) The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum;\n(ii) The National Museum of African American History and Culture;\n(iii) The Jewish Museum of Maryland; and\n(iv) The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture.\n(b) The Governor shall include in the annual budget bill an appropriation of $500,000 for the Department to provide grants to local school systems for any related expenses for student field trips to museums of cultural import.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=7-134","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"cdc63d67b1c9bfcd55ebe2fd038f17b44e79fd580c315ab76fd25712e4d841e2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-133","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-135"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
