Code, Education § 7–1401","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Quality online education standards” means the National Standards for Quality Online Programs: Second Edition (2019).\n(c) “Sponsor” means a county board, having a fiduciary responsibility for the operation of the virtual school.\n(d) “Virtual school” means a public school:\n(1) Established by a county board or multiple county boards under a written agreement under § 4–109 of this article;\n(2) That uses one or more technologies to deliver instruction to its students entirely or primarily online; and\n(3) In which the students and instructors participate remotely from separate locations.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=7-1401","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"e5900e2d40f71f4cf524730a20e297e8d9c43c4a64b681fc4a4896a5ab50b635","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-1303","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-1401.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
