Code, Education § 7–439","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “nonpublic school” means a noncollegiate educational institution that:\n(1) Holds a certificate of approval from the State Board under § 2–206(e) of this article; and\n(2) Participates in the Nonpublic Schools Textbook and Technology Grants Program.\n(b) (1) The State Board and each nonpublic school in the State shall develop and implement a program of age–appropriate education on the awareness and prevention of sexual abuse and assault.\n(2) The program required under paragraph (1) of this subsection shall be:\n(i) Taught by a teacher who is trained to provide instruction on the awareness and prevention of sexual abuse and assault; and\n(ii) Incorporated into the health curriculum of each county board and each nonpublic school.\n(c) The State Board shall adopt regulations to carry out the provisions of this section.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=7-439","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"c5a629dbbe4e0ce94cdbd0192fd8afd1b660956a560a29eb39f3e2c16fe4e3f4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-438","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-440"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
